SSVPS's Bapusaheb Shivajiroa Deore College of Engineering was established to maintain the lead of Maharashtra in technical field. Maharashtra state Government decided to permit setup of private engineering colleges and polytechnics in 1983. To this effect, Hon. Dajisaheb Rohidas C. Patil, cabinet minister of Maharashtra state with his pursuance and special efforts got permission to setup the institute in July 1983. The institute is located in the city Dhule which is a District headquarter located at the junction of three major National High Ways connecting Mumbai - Agra, Nagpur - Solapur, Aurangabad - Surat. By virtue of its location it has a great potential for development of Industries, Trade and Commerce, which adds to its value for the location of engineering college and polytechnic.
